What does therapy cost and what type of payment do you take?
Each session is $140 (individual) or $170 (couple). Payment methods are cash or credit only. No debit. I will provide you with a receipt which you can send to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Is it covered by OHIP or health benefits?
Therapy provided by a Social Worker in this context is not OHIP covered at the present time. However, most private insurance companies will provide coverage for therapy. You can contact your provider for more details (be sure to tell them your therapist is a Registered Social Worker). I will provide you with a receipt to send to them for reimbursement.

I serve clients in Toronto west (Bloor West Village, the Junction, Swansea, Babypoint), Toronto central, Etobicoke, York, Port Credit and Mississauga.
Located on the Bloor subway line (TTC), Bloor West Village, near Runnymede and Jane subway station, near the Junction and near Babypoint neighbhourhoods.
Parking - street parking is available, as well as a Green P directly behind the building.
How many sessions should I have and how often should they be?
Experience shows that most clients can tackle an issue within 4-8 sessions. Couples require 8-20 on average. But of course, it all depends on you and what your needs are. It depends on the problem you bring, and it’s length of life (a recent issue, or a chronic one), and what you want to achieve. Some people benefit from ongoing therapy for quite a long time - even years. During your first session, we can discuss how many sessions might make sense for you to have.
Can I consult with you before making an appointment?
Yes. I find it’s best to have a 20 minute conversation via phone before making your first appointment to determine what you’re looking for and how I can help. You can arrange this by clicking here.
What if i need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, you can phone or email me, providing 24 hours notice from your appointment start time. Otherwise, you’ll be charged the full amount. Any session for which you are more than 15 minutes late will be considered a missed session.
I don’t think I can wait for a session, I feel so awful right now and I need help, what should I do?
If you feel you can't wait for an appointment to get help, contact Befrienders for the crisis centre nearest you. You can also contact your family doctor, or go to the nearest hospital to speak to someone. If you need help, don't ever hesitate to seek it out.
