Grandma’s Peach Crisp

My Grandmother nurtured us through food, like many grandmother’s do. She made this dessert infused with her love, and I could always feel that quality about it when I ate it :). And now I’m excited to share it with you!

It’s a warming dessert that you can bring to any family function - Thanksgiving, for example.

And the best part is it’s SO EASY to make! Pair it with your favourite coconut whipped cream, or ice cream!

Enjoy!

Peach (or Apple) Crisp:

bottom:

8-10 peaches (nearly ripe is best), peeled, and sliced
add tablespoon of flour (to help with the juices) and a pinch of cinnamon, mix

OR:
5-6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
Pinch of cinnamon
(no tablespoon of flour required; apples aren’t as juicy as peaches so they don’t need it)

Stir together gently in bowl , place in baking dish ( 8 x 8” pan, fill (just over half) with apple slices (for apples, I usually use macintosh or cortland, but any will be fine).

topping:
1 cup flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup butter, melted

Combine topping ingredients and mix well. Sprinkle over peaches.

Bake 375 oven about 20 - 35 minutes or until golden brown (depending on the fruit you use, and your oven).

Pair with whipped cream, or ice cream! Enjoy!
