What happens when you Die
Have you ever wondered what actually happens at death?
I have.
A lot.
I like to think deeply about the nature of existence over coffee… you too?! :)
According to the Kundalini Yoga tradition, here’s what you’re in for:
First, the soul will leave the body by way of a ‘vehicle’ called your subtle body.
The subtle body is like an etheric container that will transfer your soul and your lessons to the akashic realms (we’ll get there later in this post).
You will have 3 - 30 seconds where you’ll see a review of your life.
People who have had near-death experiences often report this experience when they say things like “my life flashed before my eyes.”
We are told it’s like watching the story of your life, the good and the bad, outside of time and space. Like a holographic movie.
The purpose of this review is for you to judge (for yourself) what you have learned and what you would do differently next time.
You’ll consider these questions (yourself - there’s no panel of judges awaiting you… you get to review yourself, from a non-judgemental lens… your neutral mind):
1 - What were you supped to do?
2 - What did you do?
3 - How do you feel about it?
Beings of unconditional love will be there for your review - your Spirit Guides, ancestors, etc.
They will not judge you.
They are there to support you.
This review will inform where you go from there … what incarnation you decide to take.
Then, your soul will travel up (hopefully) toward the Blue Ether (outside of Earth’s magnetic field) until its ready to come back for its next “Earth School” experience.
There is another option, however…
You’ll be presented with a fork in the road near the Blue Ether.
You can either go toward a cozy, warm, inviting “pub scene” wit your friends and family (aka reincarnation to Earth, the “karmic path”)… or you can turn towards a cool, blue, bright, snowy scene to stay and merge with the Infinite Source.
I guess it's your call, what you do from there.
I have a feeling that the pint of Guiness and sing-songs will be too hard for me to pass up, but who knows.
In truth, this is why you want to have a strong meditative practice of some kind.
When you are out of breaths, and it’s time to leave your physical body, you don’t want to be thinking “oh shit! this is happening!” (as I’m told Ram Dass jokingly said)…
You want to be consciously chanting a mantra or a prayer that can carry you over the threshold in a high vibration, and consciously participate in the review in a sober way.
Consciously dying can only happen when you’ve practiced that mantra or prayer so much in your daily life that it becomes automatic.
We were born to die.
Death is a part of life.
It is the cycle we agreed to experience when we came here.
Preparing for death no only helps your soul’s journey into the Blue Ether, but it helps maintain a level of consciousness and perspective as we navigate the waters of daily life.
Grace, peacefulness, stillness, generosity, love, forgiveness… these are why we are here.
If you’d like to experience a meditation practice to relate to death (and life!) stay in touch.
I have some fun things on the horizon for you :)
