avoid exhaustion and raise your frequency
One of the hardest things about this human experience is accepting the spectrum of both unimaginable beauty and joy, AND the horrific tragedies, sufferings and injustices on Planet Earth.
At least it is for me.
Can you relate?
It's very tempting to fall into the River of Sorrow & Fear that travels in one direction (down…down…down…)… until your life-force energy is low, and you're stuck in despair.
Here, the landscape is dark… the body responds to protect you with inflammation, physical pain, worry, intrusive thoughts, hyper-vigilance, and dark dreams.
The Laws of the Universe dictate that once you're in the River of Sorrow & Fear, you'll only get more of the same.
Like attracts like.
So what do you do?
Well, one option is to learn how to swim upstream.
You can use what energy you have left and swim for your life!
(In life, this can look like “over-doing," toxic positivity, sometimes expecting psychedelics to shift you… basically expecting change with intentional effort. This is a kind of resistance).
Another option is to collapse.
Let the situation wash over you.
Let go and lose yourself in the darkness.
(In life, this can look like panic attacks, chronic anxiety, chronic depression, “victim” consciousness… basically never expecting things to improve and calibrating to the lower frequencies… again, another flavour of resistance).
I'm not saying it's bad or wrong to experience any of these examples… it's completely normal to respond in any of these ways…
But let me offer another approach:
Raise your Frequency.
Here's how:
Step 1 - Decide what you want a bigger experience of.
Do you want to feel more health and wellbeing?
Do you want to feel more connection to self and spirit?
Maybe you're not sure… that's okay.
There are clues in what you don't want to feel… (hint - what's the opposite of despair for you? or the opposite of fear? start there…)
Step 2 - Accept the current situation as it is.
This is often where people miss the mark.
Don't resist the pain or despair or fear.
Acknowledge it.
Accept it.
Process your resistance to it (aka anger, sadness, grief, avoidance, etc.)
You don't have to like it.
But your eyes must be open to what is here now… the river, the cold air, the darkness, the emotions, the sounds…
Step 3 - Visualize and Feel where you want to go from here (refer back to step 1 for information…)
What will it feel like when you've reached a new landscape?
What will it feel like when you swim with ease, and the flow of the water changes to match your direction, effortlessly?
What will you see? Hear? Smell?
What will change for you?
Then, you can integrate the multiple realities which will shift your frequency and vibration, thereby bringing in a NEW experience!

In EMDR Therapy, one of the main tenants is called Dual Awareness.
Dual Awareness is the ability to maintain awareness in the NOW moment while also being with distressing information (thoughts, memories, body sensations).
To hold them both at the same time.
The Yogi's call this accessing the Neutral Mind… the consciousness that can hold the dualistic nature of reality of the 3rd dimension.
When you have access to your neutral mind, your nervous system shifts, and so does your frequency to allow more acceptance, and subsequently… healing.
In my experience, if you wish to evolve to the next version of yourself, you must master this ability (everyone has the capacity to grow this skill).
How you do that is up to you.
